"It's Turned Off Cold"
To borrow a phrase from our Utah kinfolk. Dave and I had a little chuckle on Friday when we dropped Joel off at school. It was like pulling teeth to get my kids to even wear sweatshirts on Friday but I insisted because it was chillier than it had been. I think the temperature was in the mid 50s on Friday morning (although it warmed up a little by the afternoon). Since we only have one car running right now we've been taking Joel and then I drop Dave off so I can have the car to pick the kids up from school in the afternoon. Anyway when we went to drop Joel off all the teachers in the car drop- off line that were helping the kids out of cars were wearing gloves, parkas and get this--ear muffs. The coats I could kind of understand and maybe the gloves, but earmuffs?! It was in the 50s for crying out loud. It cracked us both up but it's probably only a matter of time before our blood becomes as thin as the rest of these Southerners. I've already started saying it's cold outside when it's in the low 60s. In Rochester we kept our thermastat set at 63 degrees all winter. I have a feeling we won't have it that cool here. . .

I had to chuckle when I read your post - today, here in Ottawa, Ontario, the temp. was about 32 degrees when we went to church (we actually had a light dusting of snow on the ground). The mid 50s sounds downright balmy!
