I found this "flag"--as my boys called it--taped to a metal pole from the pack and play (I've been trying to get organized and put away baby stuff that we aren't really using anymore and everything is a big mess right now). It made me chuckle. I interviewed my boys about this sign to get some answers.
Me: Tell me about this flag.
S: It's a good pirates' flag.That's an ax on the left and a cutlass on the right. The skull in the middle is a bad pirate with a blue bandana
Mom: Oh, Ok. So, who do you steal from?
S: Skeleton pirates, regular pirates, Davy Jones, uh we sometimes fight the kraken and sea monsters. Robbers, ghost pirates. Stuff like that.
Mom: Anything else you want to tell me about this?
S: My ship is called the Blue Diamond
J: Mine is called the Red Blood or the Green Gem
N: Mine is Black Pearl
S: J's the quartermaster and I'm the captain
N: And I'm a sail guy
Mom: So you guys know it's not really okay to steal, right?
Boys: Yes.
Mom: And you know violence isn't really good either, right?
S: Sort of. We save the world from bad guys.
N: My ship is blue and part of it is red.
Mom: Hmmm. Well, I guess that's what it takes sometimes.
N: And my flag is green and blue. And my flag is red. I got two flags.
Mom: Just don't be violent in real life, okay?
J: When I am an FBI, I'll have to. (He means FBI agent)
N: I want to be an FBI pirate.

Cute, cute boys. I love their imagination and strong sense of right and wrong. I'm so glad that you post things like this so we can still feel connected with what is going on with your family.
