Visit with Grandpa Bob

Gramps and the boys 2009 Grandpa Bob was just here for his annual visit. He is 95 years old now so I can’t help but wonder how many more years he will be able to do this. He is pretty amazing though.Seth and Grandpa Bob When I think about all he can and does do I am in awe. He has a lot of stories to tell and I love to listen to them, especially when he talks about my Grandma or his childhood. Sure, he has his quirks and has been known to hurt my feelings on occasion (he’s not the most tactful person you’ll ever meet), but he has a good heart and has been a hard worker his whole life.

I was especially touched listening to him bear his testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ this visit. He is not an emotional man, but he still has such tender feelings about my grandma and it was a sweet experience to hear him talk about how he knows he’ll be with her again.

Gpa Bob toilet paper mummyLast night he went to pack meeting with us to see Seth get his awards. He was a really good sport to participate in one of the activities they did, wrapping Seth up in toilet paper like a mummy. How many 95 year olds do you know that would do that? My biggest regret this trip is that we didn’t get a chance to see the dvd of him playing tennis (at the age of 95). Somehow with everything else going on it fell through the cracks. Maybe he’ll bring it with him when he comes for a visit next year.
