Captain’s Log: Day 3 of the swine flu.
Joel shows marked improvement in his physical condition. Yesterday he slept most of the day and ate virtually nothing. Today he has an increased appetite and I am finding it increasingly difficult to keep him quarantined as he has a bit more energy and grows weary of being confined to his bunk. I’m quite certain that he will be back to hoisting the rigging in no time.
In the meantime we have battened down the hatches in anticipation of the coming storm. In this instance, I fear that one sick sailor points to the potential of widespread illness among the entire crew.
There is always the possibility that we may be able to yet avoid the storm though. We shall continue to pray for a favorable wind.

Jill,
You crack me up with your "captain's log" and "favorable wind"! You are a wonderful writer. Thank you so much for leaving a comment on my blog. It all started when my mother in law attempted to leave a comment and didn't know how. And then I just got excited at the thought of someone else reading my blog. Hence the "how to comment" post! I do have to remind myself to take the time to comment on others' blogs. I am a horrible lurker! Ha! Oh, and I want you to know that your family is in my prayers. I have been so concerned about the germies going around right now. I have to remind myself to not let the media influence me so negatively and that there are always germies out there. I told Joshua last night that I wouldn't be half as worried as I am about this if I wasn't a mama! Well, thanks again. You are a great bloggy friend! I found the "reactions" thingy under the "layout" tab where you edit your settings, etc. On the "page elements" page, click on "edit" in the "blog posts" box. You should find it there. And I should go before I max out the number of times it's safe to use quotation marks in a blog comment. :)
From one captain to another, good luck, and God speed. :) Love you guys and hope you're not hit too hard!
Glad to hear thigs are looking up! This is a cute post. Love you all!
I am so glad that Joel is doing better now. I hope the rest of the family was able to avoid getting sick. Your post made me chuckle. :)
