I made homemade chocolate chip cookies today.
I listened to this podcast while I was baking the cookies. It is an interview that Sherri Dew conducted with Elder Jeffrey R. Holland and his wife, Patricia. It was long (one hour) but I can tell you right now, it is worth your time. I loved what they had to say. I especially appreciated this quote from Elder Holland, in particular the scripture he shared:
“I’m a believer. . .I believe that God lives. I believe that angels are all around us. I believe that we were meant to have help; we were meant to be encouraged; we were meant to succeed. . . . I’m committed to hope. . . . I said once that there was one commandment that we may unwittingly violate almost more than any other commandment that the Savior gave and that is the commandment to ‘be of good cheer’. We’re supposed to hope. We’re supposed to be believing. We’re supposed to know it will get better. It will get better. It does get better. [The Savior] said ‘These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world, ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.’ " (the scripture is John 16:33)
Can there possibly be any thought more lovely than that?
What loveliness did the day bring to you?

Warm socks. A husband to shovel a snow-filled walkway. Nowhere to go. :)
That's fantastic. Thanks for sharing! I had a very yucky day and thought, "I won't have anything to share on Jill's blog..."
Wonderful thought. Yes! Thank you.
