Some friends of ours from church invited us to go out to where they board their horses with them so that the boys could ride. It was a lot of fun. The horse, Krunchie, is 23 years old. He is a retired race horse. He was really big—17 1/2 hands, but is a gentle giant. The boys really enjoyed riding him and Dave and I even got to ride him for a few minutes as well. Even Daniel rode (with me) and loved every minute of it. 
Seth was able to mount with just a little help. He was the only one whose feet even came close to reaching the stirrups.
Here Joel is getting instruction on how to use the reigns. It wasn’t really necessary since our friend led the horse for each of us but it was still fun for the boys to learn how to do it.

This little calf was just a few days old. His momma was very protective of him.
Sadly I left the memory card for the camera at home accidentally so we only got a few pictures, but they invited us to go again sometime so maybe I’ll get a few more pictures then. Thanks to our friends for sharing a lovely afternoon with us.
