Braggadocio

Well, I guess it doesn't really qualify as braggadocio if there's a valid reason to brag. And there is. I am so proud of my smart husband. He is so good at what he does. Friday there was a Diabetes conference at Auburn at which he presented a poster (think Science Fair from when you were a kid, only way beyond that.) This was a big conference. One of the former Miss America queens who has Diabetes was a guest speaker. They sent home flyers with the kids from school a week or so ago informing everyone about the event, so pretty much everyone in the area was invited and I'm sure there were lots that attended. There was a poster session earlier today, a luncheon, a reception and then this evening a fancy dinner ($25 a plate for the people who attended--free for David). First, second and third place awards were given for the best posters. David took first place and brought home a nice certificate and a cash prize of $250.00! He also brought home bragging rights and another bullet point on his Curriculum Vitae. Not bad! I love my handsome scientist.

Congratulations, Dave! Jill, I must admit, I am a little disappointed in you -- no pictures?! :D

David is SO smart! Thank goodness he has a science-brain Dad to take after. That is so exciting that he won first place.
