When you combine five 2 liter bottles of Diet Coke and four boxes of Mentos?
A. An awesome FHE.
We tried the Mentos/Diet Coke experiement and were not disappointed. What a fun thing. It was raining quite a bit earlier but that proved to be helpful in cleaning up the mess we made. The kids totally loved it and with our 5 bottles of Diet Coke we had a little room to experiment. The most successful way was to push a nail through the lid of the soda bottle then skewer the Mentos onto the nail. Then we put the lid on the bottle and yanked the nail out with pliers. It created a geyser effect that was pretty cool and a lot longer lasting than the volcano effect that just putting the Mentos in without a lid on the bottle produced. The thing that made it the most fun however was the fact that our best friends were here to share it with us. Thanks for the memories Mentos and Diet Coke.
