I think part of being a little boy (or any kid for that matter) is getting battle scars. Nate got a pretty good one yesterday. He was wrapped up in his blanket and headed to the kitchen table to get himself some cereal when he tripped on the blanket and fell and hit his eye on one of the kitchen chairs. He came and got in bed with me and I didn't even know he was hurt until David came in, looked at him and said, "Holy cow! What happened? Jill, get up. Nate has blood all over his face." That is not a good way to wake up in the morning. Not at all. I washed his face off and saw that he had a pretty good cut over his eye.
To make a long story short, I eventually ended up taking him into the doctor since it never really stopped bleeding. He looked at it and decided that Dermabond (surgical super glue) would be the best way to fix it. I can't believe how much better it looks now. Instead of a gaping gash it's a neatly closed little line. Nate did a great job of being brave and holding still at the doctors office. He was a real trooper.
You know, I think it's pretty remarkable that I have made it through more than 10 years of motherhood and four sons with no broken bones and no stitches (David doesn't count). Thanks to the glue, the record remains intact. And now Nate has a war story to share. Can I get an "Oorah," Marines style? Yeah.

Poor guy! I can NOT believe how big he looks in that picture. I looked at it and thought, "is that NATE??!!"

Poor guy. Its amazing we all make it to adulthood with all of the dangers around us!
I'm glad the doctor could fix it with glue--it doesn't look too bad. Grandma's poor little dolly boy!
Oh my gosh, if anybody deserves an Urah, it is you, woman! :)
I thought the same thing as Amy, Nate lokks like he has really grown. Glad you made it through with just glue, oorah!
