Wisteria

Wisteria—taken last April. I haven’t had a chance to get out and take any new pictures of it yet. Soon.

The loveliest thing today was driving my kids to and from speech therapy, school and after school band practice. Let me explain. As I was driving (with my windows down to get the full effect of the sight and smell of it all), I noticed that the wisteria has exploded here in the last couple of days. It is everywhere. I think there is more of it this year than I have seen in any year since moving here. Imagine looking at a large wooded area and seeing more purple than green—acres of this delicate, magnificent vine crowning the trees, climbing telephone poles and covering mailboxes. It is actually beyond lovely. People around here say it’s a weed. I guess maybe it is (it certainly grows like one), but it is definitely the prettiest, sweetest smelling weed I have ever seen. So very lovely.

What loveliness did the day bring to you?

It's lovely to think of my husband having weekends off with his new job!!

And it's lovely to force yourself to find lovely things each day. What a great idea Jill!
